Beef burger & stir-fry rice fusion with burger sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 Brown onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Carrot
  • 200 grams Bacon
  • 2 Gherkins
  • ½ Green cabbage
  • 2 tsp Olive oil
  • 500 grams Beef mince
  • 50 grams Tomato paste
  • 60 mls Gherkin juice
  • 2 tbsps Soy sauce
  • 250 grams Basmati rice pre-cooked or instant
  • 50 grams Cheese grated
  • 40 mls Burger sauce

Instructions

PREP INGREDIENTS

  • Peel and finely dice the onion. Peel and mince the garlic. Peel and grate the carrot. Finely dice the bacon. Finely dice the gherkin. Finely shred the cabbage.

COOK MINCE

  • Heat the oil in a frypan on medium heat. Add onions, garlic, carrot and bacon and cook for 4-5 mins, until soft. Add beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-6 mins, breaking it up with a wooden, until browned.

COOK STIR-FRY

  • Add tomato paste, gherkin, gherkin juice measure (if using) and soy sauce. Stir so the meat is coated. Add the cabbage and toss through the meat. Cook for about 3 mins, until the cabbage is slightly wilted. Then add the cooked rice, toss to combine and cook until heated through. Season with salt and pepper.

TO SERVE

  • Divide the beef burger & stir-fry rice between plates. Grate over the cheese and drizzle with the burger sauce.
