Ingredients

Wet mix

  • ½ cup dates The Carefillery
  • ½ cup coconut oil or 125g butter
  • ¼ cup maple syrup or golden syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla essence

Dry mix

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup desiccated coconut or shredded coconut
  • 3 cups post workout mix The Carefillery

Instructions

Before you start

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Line a baking dish with baking paper.

Wet mixture

  • Roughly chop ½ cup dates. Add the dates, ½ cup coconut oil and ¼ cup maple syrup to a small pot on medium-low heat and cook for 5 minutes, or until the oil is melted and the dates have softened. Add 1 tsp vanilla extract then carefully blend or mash the mixture until smooth and well combined.

Dry mixture

  • In a large bowl combine 3 cups post workout mix, 1 cup oats, ½ cup desiccated coconut, 1 tsp baking powder and ½ tsp cinnamon.

Combine mixtures

  • Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry mixture and stir until well combined.

Bake slice

  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and evenly spread, using a spatula to flatten and lightly press down. Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes or until lightly golden. Allow to cool before slicing.
