- 1 Square baking dish
- Baking paper
- 1 Large microwave-proof bowl
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp / 30 ml coconut oil
- 1 cup quick oats
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 tbsp chia seeds or 1 egg
- 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup / 260 g apple puree or apple sauce
- 2 tbsp / 48 g honey or maple syrup
Instructions
Before you start
- Preheat your oven to 180 °C. Line a square baking dish with baking paper.
Make bars
- Melt 2 tbsp coconut oil and 2 tbsp honey in a large microwave-proof bowl in the microwave. Then add 1 cup quick oats, 1 cup rolled oats, 2 tbsp chia seeds, 1 ½ tsp cinnamon, 1 cup apple puree and stir to combine.
Bake bars
- Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish so that it's an even layer, around 1.5-2cm thick. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until firm to touch but not hard.
To finish
- Allow to cool before slicing into squares.
